A personal letter from our Chapter President-

Hi everyone! My name is Nikki Corrado and I am the Chapter President of Alpha Chi Omega, Zeta Xi Chapter. I am so excited that you are interested in going greek! I remember being in your shoes little over a year ago, I was looking for as many answers on what it is like to be in the greek community. I want to help you in every way I can to make you feel better about going into formal recruitment knowing that you made the right decision! With that being said, let me tell you a little bit about my journey as an Alpha Chi.
During my first semester at UNCG, I did not know much about what I wanted to do with my time in college. I was an out-of-state student who decided to take the leap of faith and go to a school that was 12 hours away from home. I only had two things in mind; studying my heart out with my major and going Greek. When the first official day of recruitment came, I was so ecstatic. I couldn’t wait to meet the different sororities. The first day I walked into Alpha Chi, I felt so welcomed and I connected with the girls immediately. Since then, my mind was able to open up to a ton of new possibilities because I decided to join something bigger than myself and go greek.

I love that one of the phrases Alpha Chi is known for is that every sister is a Real. Strong. Women., that is absolutely true for each sister in this sorority. During these tough times, we have grown together as a whole and individually as well. I felt like it has made us stronger than ever before, because we are all going through this together. Whether that is doing Netflix watch parties online, having zoom study sessions, having fun sisterhoods where we all bake cookies on zoom, or late night food runs with my roommate/sister. Even though Alpha Chi has not been able to bond like the past sisters have experienced, we found a way to still come together and make this year memorable. Showing that sisterhood has the power to help anyone that needs support and love.

Along with that, I want to continue to radiate that love and support within our community as well. One of the events that I am very proud of since my time in Alpha Chi was when we gained an honorable sister, Charlie! We had a fun, socially distanced, car parade in honor of her! I loved seeing the pictures of her having a huge smile on her face, she gave us hope that we all needed that day. Another opportunity that Alpha Chi has added into this sisterhood is the idea of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This allows us to open up conversation with topics that should be discussed. I am so lucky to be a part of Alpha Chi, where we are ready to have those tough conversations and learn more about the rich cultures that these sisters have known their whole lives.

I could go on and on about how Alpha Chi has truly changed my life for the better, and I know I am not the only one who feels this way. Zeta Xi has shown me how it feels to be accepted for who I am and gave me the ability to come out of my shell.
My sisters and I hope you decide to go Greek. Zeta Xi is so excited to meet you all and welcome you with open arms! Alpha Chi is where you can find the true meaning of sisterhood; where there’s the opportunity to find the love and trust you have been aching for.
With love,

Nikki Corrado
